Aim of the study
The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at SGGW is proud to announce the launch of the new master’s degree programme “Modern engineering in water management”, starting the 28th of February 2022.
The programme aims to provide the students with holistic, modern and interdisciplinary knowledge in sustainable water engineering and water management. The classes will be taught by specialists from different Institutes of Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) and international guest professors from cooperating European universities.
The studies are focused on both technical and ecological aspects of water management and are focused on the role of humans in shaping sustainable landscapes and ecosystems in the face of climate change. Graduates gain complex knowledge and skills for future careers in water consultancy, regulation or conducting research activities.
The program, over three semesters, consists of lectures, seminars, workshops, lab work, and field research, which take place in both partner countries: Poland and Kazakhstan.
During the MSc programme, students take part in activities at two universities.
The first semester is divided into three modules:
- 1-month joined online module
- 3-months stationary module in Kazakhstan (polish student obtain scholarships and travel cost equivalent covered by NAWA exchange programme)
- Field research module part 1 – Drought and deserts (held in Kazakhstan).
Due to the political situation, the decision about student’s mobility to Kazakhstan will be made at a later date !!!
The second and third semesters are stationed in Poland and include compulsory and elective courses:
- intercultural workshop in the Tatra mountains;
- 10-months stationary module in Poland (kazakh student obtain scholarships and travel cost equivalent covered by NAWA exchange programme)
- field research module part 2 – Drought and wetlands (held in Poland);
- master thesis.
