The scientific and research activity of the Department of Landscape Architecture concerns the principles of planning, designing, arranging, nurturing and restoring landscape architecture objects.
The aim of the research conducted at the Department is to develop the theory of landscape design, transformation and management in relation to both individual objects of landscape architecture and the landscape as a whole on a regional and / or municipal (rural and urban) scale.
The research concerns, among others problems of tree stand management in urbanized and open areas, the degree of preservation of the tree structure in landscape architecture objects, assessment of the functioning and principles of shaping recreational and play spaces, history and importance of parks in the landscape, natural conditions for shaping the landscape in various geographic regions.
As part of the research work, the Department prepares design and expert studies:
- environmental projects on an urban scale;
- designs of landscape architecture objects: parks, lawns, gardens, playgrounds for children, etc.
- green areas development projects for housing estates;
- inventory of plant cover;
- ecophysiographic studies;
- environmental impact assessment of the investment;
- landscape park protection plans;
- expert opinions in the field of landscape protection and shaping in the scale of the region, city and place;
- expert opinions and expert opinions in the field of shaping green areas, e.g. health condition and stability of trees and trees, safety in playgrounds, construction of gardens on roofs, etc.
