Biology Laboratory
Supervisor: prof. dr hab. inż. Piotr Dąbrowski
Building 33, room 225
The laboratory is equipped with specialised research stations that enable analyses and measurements in plant physiology, botany, and ecology.
The laboratory equipment includes:
- Photosynthesis measurement station – used for analysing plant photosynthesis parameters.
- Light exposure measurement station – the SunScan SS1 system (Delta-T Devices Ltd., the United Kingdom) measures Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) and Leaf Area Index (LAI).
- Plant biometric analysis station – used for the assessment of healthy and damaged leaf surface area, as well as measurements of root system length and area. The WinDIAS and WinRhizo systems are used.
- Botanical composition analysis station – used for the assessment of the composition and structure of vegetation in grassland communities.
- Seed vigour and germination capacity measurement station – used for the assessment of seed material quality.
Additional laboratory resources:
– microscopes and binoculars,
– herbaceous plant collection,
– cultivated plant collection,
– mineral fertiliser collection,
– laboratory refrigerator, dryer, glassware, and scales.
