Landscape Architecture
Studies in the field of Landscape Architecture have a natural and architectural character. Graduates of secondary schools can gain education at first-cycle studies – engineering (full-time mode),
and then second-cycle studies – master’s (full-time or extramural).
1st cycle studies – engineering (full-time)
beginning of classes: – winter semester
duration of studies: 3.5 years (7 semesters)
obtained title: – landscape architect engineer
Elements of the study program at KAK:
design of landscape architecture objects, elective projects, construction of landscape architecture objects, nurturing of landscape architecture objects, physiography, history of garden art, conservation and revalorization, 2D and 3D engineering graphics, construction, building materials science, basics of spatial management, optional subjects, diploma seminars.
Graduate silhouette
Graduates of the 1st degree studies – engineering have knowledge in the field of natural, agricultural, technical and fine arts, which allows them to shape landscape architecture objects in accordance with the functional, psychological and biological needs of a human being.
Graduates of the 1st degree studies are prepared to work in design offices and architectural studios developing landscaping development projects; units implementing and maintaining landscape architecture objects; government and local government administration units and education.
Second-cycle studies – MA (full-time or extramural)
beginning of classes: summer semester
duration of studies: 1.5 years (3 semesters)
obtained academic degree: Master of Science in Landscape Architect
Elements of the study program at KAK:
History and theory of spatial shaping, research methodology, sociology and environmental psychology, computer techniques in design, spatial information systems, spatial planning, urban landscape design, rural landscape design, landscape engineering.
Graduate silhouette
Graduates in the course of second-cycle studies acquire knowledge and skills that allow them to shape the landscape in the region, including national parks, landscape parks and other legally protected areas, shaping the landscape in the scale of local plans, especially in the field of protection and revitalization of historical urban layouts and rural areas, shaping the urban and open landscape, also in the vicinity of engineering structures.
Completion of the second-cycle studies allows you to work in units developing strategies, studies and projects of spatial development plans, urban and rural projects, managements of national and landscape parks, scientific and research institutions and research and development centers, institutions dealing with counseling and disseminating knowledge in the field of landscape protection and shaping.
