Dr Paweł Sudra’s activities within the Green Book of Poland’s Landscapes project

Dr Paweł Sudra, affiliated with the Department of Environmental Development and Remote Sensing, is involved in the preparation of the Green Book of Poland’s Landscapes. This project bridges research and practice and is being developed by a multidisciplinary research team, including geographers, landscape architects, urban planners, environmental engineers, biologists, economists, lawyers, and historians from institutions across Poland. The Green Book of Poland’s Landscapes will be the principal outcome of the work of the Team for Landscape Changes of the Committee on Geographical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences for the 2024-2027 term.
The conference Multidisciplinary Landscape Research was held at the Institute of Geography and Spatial Organisation, Polish Academy of Sciences (IGSO PAS), on 12-13 May 2026, and summarised the progress made on the first stage of the Green Book of Poland’s Landscapes project. The event had a discussion-based, partly workshop-style format and was aimed at exchanging findings and recommendations.
Dr Paweł Sudra presented the findings as coordinator of the subreport (C1) Landscape conditions of population and settlement changes. He also participates in teams preparing two other subreports: (A4) Spatial planning law and landscape protection, and (C2) Infrastructure development and landscape.

Notably, dr hab. inż. Renata Giedych from the Department of Landscape Architecture is among the lead coordinators of the Green Book of Poland’s Landscapes project.
