The laboratory performs the following experiments:
Determination of calibration curves for indirect soil moisture measurement methods (for mineral and organic soils) using TDR and FDR techniques.
Measurement of soil moisture in undisturbed soil samples using TDR and FDR techniques.
Verification of soil moisture values obtained using the above methods by means of the reference gravimetric method.
Determination of soil properties, including bulk density, particle density, porosity, and water content at full saturation.
Measurement of solid surface wettability using the sessile drop method with a CAM100 optical goniometer.
Determination of soil water retention and hydraulic conductivity curves using the evaporation method with HYPROP 2.
