Professor Edward Pierzgalski has died - a retired SGGW Professor and former employee of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Remote Sensing
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Edward Pierzgalski, who died on 26 August 2026. He was a retired SGGW Professor, an outstanding scientist, and a former employee of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Remote Sensing.
Professor Edward Pierzgalski served as Dean of the Faculty of Land and Environmental Development from 1990 to 1993 and as Vice-Rector for Didactics at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) from 1993 to 1996. He was also awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa by the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.
His scientific achievements, teaching activities, and commitment to the development of the academic community will remain an important part of our collective memory.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on 4 September at 9.00 am at St Catherine’s Church, 17 Fosa Street, followed by burial in the family grave at the Parish Cemetery in Lipków.
