3rd International seminar and workshop on geoinformatics, remote sensing and engineering in spatial planning and environmental science
Environment in times of hazard Warsaw, Poland 03-04.10.2022
Dear Colleagues!
We are very happy to invite you to participate in the third seminar on spatial planning, geoinformation, geoinformatics and remote sensing in environmental research. This year, we propose two parallel sessions:
1) the role of USG in the provision of ecosystem services
2) geoinformatics as a tool in spatial planning and environmental science.
Urban green spaces (UGS) have long been valued for providing a range of ecosystem services and for their role in improving the health and wellbeing of residents. With the epidemiological and economic crisis we have recently faced, the role of handy green spaces has proved all the more important. On the other hand, the crisis makes it clear that exclusive green space solutions have no future. Instead, there is a need to promote more cost-effective and environmentally friendly green space solutions, which would allow decision makers to expand the city’s green infrastructure, ensure the availability of green spaces for residents and increase the ecosystem services provided by these spaces. We are looking for presentations on environmental monitoring and inventory studies, in particular applications of geo-information technologies such as aerial and satellite remote sensing, photogrammetry and UAS imaging, and 3D modelling. We point to geo-information as a tool to assist in spatial planning and environmental science research. We are interested in the novel application of GIS and remote sensing in a wide range of environmental aspects. We are interested in the novel application of GIS and remote sensing in environmental hazard analysis with hydrological, geomorphological and botanical examples. Researchers, planners and students in environmental sciences, architecture, construction, landscape architecture and urban planning are invited to participate in the seminar.
The seminar will be held in hybrid mode om Campus WULS-SGGW in Warsaw Nowoursynowska 166 and online MS Teams platform.
Participation in the seminar is free of charge!
